ALL COUNTY CHORUS -- FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is All County Chorus?
It is a group of fifth graders from each of our system’s elementary schools. The students learn the music, then attend rehearsals with a guest clinician/conductor for 2 days at Southwest Elementary School. The group presents a concert in conjunction with Crescendo on Friday night at 7:00p.m.

Who can participate?
Each elementary school is allowed to send four fifth graders who are not in Crescendo.
What is required?
Prior to the event, teachers should teach students the part assigned to your school. All music must be memorized. Names, heights, and T-shirt sizes (ALL ADULT SIZES) must be turned in to Diane Guthrie at Clemmons Elementary by January 14, 2010
What is the concert dress?
For girls - knee length black skirts or long black dress pants, white blouses, black low heeled shoes, black tights, hose, or socks.
For boys – long black dress pants, white dress shirts, black shoes, black socks
What about meals on Friday?
Students need to bring a bag lunch and 2 snacks for Friday. Dinner will be pizza, fruit, and a drink for $3.00 per person.
What about T-shirts?
T-shirts are optional; however, most of the students wear the shirts on Friday during the day. Shirts are $6.00 each. They have the All County logo on the front and the students’ names on the back. ALL SHIRTS ARE ADULT SIZES.
Are embroidered golf shirts available for teachers?
We have a few shirts left from last year. These are white with navy embroidery and are available for $12 each on a first come-first served basis. If there is enough interest, we can have others made, possibly in a different color.
Do we need parent volunteers? What do they need to do? When do they need to be there?
Yes, we need volunteers to serve the pizza dinner and clean up. They need to be at Southwest between 4:30-4:45.
We also need volunteers – both men and women – to monitor the changing rooms. These people need to arrive by 5:30.
Can family members eat pizza Friday night?
Yes, with prior reservations at $3.00 per person.
What about transportation?
Teachers will transport students to Southwest Elementary both days for rehearsal. Parents need to pick up their children at Southwest Elementary after rehearsal on Thursday (approximately 5:30 p.m.) and after the performance on Friday (approximately 8:00 p.m.) Please make sure to sign the field trip permission form and return it to the teacher.
What is the total cost per student?
The total cost is $9.00 per student - $6.00 for the T-shirt and $3.00 for dinner on Friday.
Will the concert be recorded? Can I purchase a copy?
The concert will be recorded. A CD of the performance may be ordered following the performance for $10.00. They will be sent to the school within 4-6 weeks following the event.
When is money due?
All money is due to music teachers by January 14, 2010 to Clemmons Elementary School.
