Circle ‘Round The Moon

Program Notes

Reflections of Youth were inspired by childhood recollections.  The subjects of the songs cover a wide range of topics including growing up in a small town, daydreaming about nature as well as manmade edifices, ghostly sightings, and the routine of suburban life. They are unified in that they all seek to find answers about the unseen through what is routinely seen and experienced in life.

“Circle ‘Round the Moon” is a song about the piercing beauty of nature.  It raises the question of the origins of our universe and how the beauty itself brings out a longing within us for what lies beyond what we can see.
