Donald J. Walter (High School Honors Clinician) is the Orchestra Teacher at East Henderson High School and Flat Rock Middle School in Hendersonville, NC.  He is also the Conductor /Director of the Hendersonville Symphony Youth Orchestra.  In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Mr. Walter enjoys performing as a member of the bass section in both the Hendersonville Symphony and the Spartanburg Philharmonic.  For the past twelve years Mr. Walter has been on the faculty of the UNCG Summer Music Camp and has served as the conductor of both the Junior and Senior Orchestras.  Mr. Walter is an active clinician who has served as the guest conductor for the Charlotte All-County Honors Orchestra, the Guilford County All-County Middle School Orchestra, and the New Hanover County (Wilmington, NC) All-County Middle School Orchestra. In 2001 he was elected by his peers to be the Director of the North Carolina Western Region All-State Repertory Orchestra, an honor held by less than twenty string educators in North Carolina.  Furthermore, Mr. Walter will be the conductor of the NC Western Region Junior All-State Repertory Orchestra in May 2006.  Mr. Walter enjoys music (obviously), working with computers, strategic gaming, reading, and spending time with his son, Andrew, and his fiancée, Jenn.
